Dermapen Basic with Vitamins (1ml) in Mirdif, Dubai

Villa 44C, 83rd Street, Mirdif Medically supervised +971 4 268 8226

Dermapen Basic with Vitamins in Mirdif, Dubai is an entry-tier treatment, and the honest version of this page explains what that buys you. At Dermabloom Medical Center, Villa 44C, 83rd Street, Mirdif, Dr Sarah Magdy tells patients plainly which part of this treatment does the work. To book, call 04 268 8226 or message +971 56 598 6039.

Most clinics sell the vitamins and mention the needling. We would rather do it the other way round, because that reflects the evidence.

What “Basic” and “1ml” Mean

Two numbers define this tier.

Basic means a standard pen-device microneedling session at a conservative depth, without the additions that higher tiers carry — no polynucleotides, no platelet-rich plasma, no exosomes, no radiofrequency.

1ml is the volume of vitamin cocktail applied during that session. Be aware that 1ml spread across a whole face is a light dose. A fuller mesotherapy treatment typically uses several millilitres, so this tier sits at the entry point rather than the middle.

That is not a criticism of the tier. It is simply what the price reflects, and you should know it before comparing quotes.

What Does the Work

The Needling

The pen creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your body responds to that controlled injury by laying down new collagen over the following weeks, which is why results build gradually rather than appearing the next morning.

This part has reasonable evidence behind it, particularly for skin texture, enlarged-looking pores and atrophic acne scarring. Microneedling combined with platelet-rich plasma for acne scarring has meta-analysis support, which is a higher standard than most aesthetic treatments reach.

The Vitamins

Here the picture is weaker, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

Vitamin mesotherapy cocktails are not standardised. Formulations differ between manufacturers and between clinics, controlled trials are limited, and no agreed protocol exists. So the cocktail may add hydration and a short-term glow, and it may help the skin feel more comfortable afterwards. It is an adjunct rather than the engine.

If someone tells you the vitamins rebuild collagen, detoxify your skin or brighten it from within, treat that as marketing. The needling drives the collagen response, and the cocktail rides along.

What 1ml Realistically Covers

  • A light full-face pass, which is the usual use of this tier.
  • One targeted area more generously — cheeks alone, or the under-eye and mid-face region, or an area of acne scarring.

Choose one or the other rather than expecting both. Spreading 1ml thinly across face, neck and décolletage delivers very little anywhere, and we will suggest either a smaller treatment area or a higher tier instead.

Who This Tier Suits

  • First-timers wanting to see how their skin responds before committing.
  • Mild concerns — dullness, slightly rough texture, early pore visibility.
  • Maintenance between larger treatments.
  • Limited budgets, where a real treatment beats an imaginary plan.

Who Should Step Up Instead

  • Established acne scarring. Needling helps, but this depth and this volume will disappoint. Ask about microneedling with platelet-rich plasma.
  • Significant laxity. Pen microneedling does not tighten meaningfully, and radiofrequency microneedling reaches deeper.
  • Treating face, neck and décolletage together, which needs more product.
  • Anyone chasing a dramatic single-session change. That is not what this is.

We will tell you at consultation which group you fall into, including when the honest answer is that a cheaper skincare change would serve you better.

Safety: The Section Worth Reading

Anything needled or injected into skin carries infection risk, and cocktails carry a particular one.

Non-tuberculous mycobacteria cause a documented complication of mesotherapy. These organisms produce nodules, abscesses and granulomatous inflammation that appear weeks to months after treatment rather than immediately, and they resist ordinary antibiotics. Contaminated product, non-sterile technique and unregulated preparations all drive it.

So three things matter more than the price.

  • Single-use sterile cartridges, opened in front of you.
  • A named, traceable product rather than an unlabelled vial decanted from something larger.
  • A licensed practitioner in a licensed clinic, not a salon or a home visit.

Report any lump, nodule or persistent redness that appears weeks after treatment. Do not wait for it to settle, and do tell whoever sees you that you had a needled cocktail — delayed presentation is exactly how these infections get missed.

Your Session

  1. Consultation. Dr Sarah assesses your skin, confirms the tier suits your concern, and reviews medication, pregnancy status, herpes history and any active skin condition.
  2. Preparation. Cleansing, then numbing cream with time to work.
  3. Needling. Roughly twenty to thirty minutes across the treatment area, with depth varied by region.
  4. Cocktail. The 1ml applied during and after the passes.
  5. Course. Typically three to six sessions, four weeks apart, then maintenance.

Expect redness resembling sunburn for a day or two. Results build over four to six weeks as new collagen forms, so judge the course rather than the session.

Before and After

Before: stop retinoids and acids five to seven days beforehand. Avoid sun and self-tan for two weeks. Tell us about isotretinoin within the last six months, any cold sore history, autoimmune conditions, keloid tendency, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Arrive with clean skin and no makeup.

Afterwards: expect redness, tightness and mild flaking for one to three days. Use only a bland moisturiser and SPF 50 for the first few days. Meanwhile skip makeup for 24 hours, and skip gym, sauna, steam, swimming and hot baths for 48 hours. Restart retinoids and acids after five to seven days. Above all, keep your hands off the area and let it settle.

Risks

Common and expected: redness, mild swelling, tightness, pinpoint bleeding during treatment, and light flaking for a few days.

Less common: post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly in Fitzpatrick IV to VI or after sun exposure; a cold sore flare if you are prone; and temporary breakouts.

Uncommon but more consequential: bacterial infection, delayed mycobacterial infection and granulomatous nodules as above, allergic reaction to a cocktail ingredient, and scarring where treatment goes too deep or over active infection. Keloid-prone skin needs individual assessment.

Who We Cannot Treat

This treatment does not suit pregnancy or breastfeeding, active acne with pustules, active infection anywhere in the area, an active cold sore, open wounds, eczema or psoriasis flaring in the treatment zone, or isotretinoin within the last six months.

Please raise these before booking: a keloid or hypertrophic scarring tendency, autoimmune or connective tissue disease, immunosuppression, bleeding disorders or anticoagulants, poorly controlled diabetes, a history of delayed nodules after any injectable, and known allergy to vitamins or preservatives in cosmetic products. Additionally, mention any mole in the area that has changed — we assess it first, and skin lesion excision covers that.

Price

This tier sits at the entry point of the microneedling range, and the price reflects a standard pen session with 1ml of cocktail. Higher tiers cost more because they add product volume, a different active, or a different device rather than because the needling changes. Ask any clinic what the cocktail contains and who makes it, since an unnamed product is a genuine warning sign. Dermabloom quotes firmly at consultation — call 04 268 8226. UAE health insurance does not cover cosmetic treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 1ml enough for my whole face?

For a light full-face pass, yes — and that is the usual use of this tier. A fuller mesotherapy treatment typically uses several millilitres, so 1ml sits at the entry point. Alternatively you can use the same 1ml more generously on one targeted area. Choose one approach rather than spreading it thinly across face, neck and décolletage.

Do the vitamins actually do anything?

Some, though less than the marketing suggests. Vitamin cocktails are not standardised, formulations differ between manufacturers, and controlled evidence is limited. They may add hydration and a short-term glow. The needling drives the collagen response, so treat any claim that vitamins rebuild collagen, detoxify or brighten from within as marketing rather than medicine.

What does “Basic” exclude?

The additions that higher tiers carry: polynucleotides, platelet-rich plasma, exosomes and radiofrequency. Basic is a standard pen-device microneedling session at conservative depth with 1ml of vitamin cocktail. Higher tiers cost more because they add product volume, a different active or a different device — not because the needling itself changes.

Will this fix my acne scars?

Not at this tier, realistically. Microneedling genuinely helps atrophic acne scarring, and combined with platelet-rich plasma it has meta-analysis support. However, established scarring needs greater depth and more sessions than Basic provides. Ask about microneedling with platelet-rich plasma instead, and we will say so at consultation rather than after three disappointing sessions.

Will it tighten my skin?

Not meaningfully. Pen microneedling improves texture and stimulates some collagen, but it does not tighten significant laxity. Radiofrequency microneedling reaches deeper and addresses that better, though it carries its own contraindications. Anyone promising tightening from an entry-tier pen session is overselling it.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically three to six, spaced four weeks apart, followed by occasional maintenance. Judge the course rather than the session, since results build over four to six weeks as new collagen forms. One session produces a short-term glow and very little lasting change, whatever anyone tells you.

What should I ask about the cocktail?

What it contains and who makes it. A named, traceable product with a manufacturer is what you want. An unlabelled vial decanted from something larger is a genuine warning sign, because contaminated and unregulated preparations drive the delayed infections described below. Ask every clinic, including us.

What is the delayed infection risk?

Non-tuberculous mycobacteria are a documented complication of mesotherapy. They cause nodules, abscesses and granulomatous inflammation appearing weeks to months after treatment rather than immediately, and they resist ordinary antibiotics. Single-use sterile cartridges, a named product and a licensed clinic all reduce the risk considerably.

A lump appeared weeks later. What should I do?

Contact us, and do not wait for it to settle. Any lump, nodule or persistent redness appearing weeks after a needled cocktail needs assessing rather than watching. Also tell whoever sees you that you had a needled cocktail, because delayed presentation is exactly how these infections get missed and mistreated.

How much downtime is there?

One to three days of redness resembling sunburn, with tightness and light flaking. Leave makeup off for 24 hours, and skip gym, sauna, steam, swimming and hot baths for 48 hours. Use only a bland moisturiser and SPF 50 for the first few days, then restart retinoids and acids after five to seven.

Is it safe for darker skin?

Generally yes, with care. Microneedling suits darker skin better than many resurfacing treatments, since it does not rely on heat or pigment. Nevertheless post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation remains possible in Fitzpatrick IV to VI, so we use conservative depth, avoid treating inflamed skin, and insist on daily SPF 50 throughout the course.

Can I have it if I am on isotretinoin?

Not within six months of finishing it. Skin healing is altered during and after a course, and needling it risks scarring. Tell us the dates rather than approximating. The same caution applies to active acne with pustules, active cold sores, and eczema or psoriasis flaring in the treatment area.

Would something cheaper work just as well for me?

Sometimes, and we will say so. For mild dullness and texture, a properly used retinoid plus daily sunscreen often delivers more over a year than an occasional entry-tier session. Microneedling earns its place where texture, pores or scarring need a physical stimulus. Dr Sarah will tell you which applies to your skin.

Microneedling is a medical procedure. A licensed medical practitioner must see you face to face and assess your skin first. Dermapen is a registered trademark of its owner and is used here only to identify the device the clinic holds. Evidence differs between the components of this treatment: microneedling has reasonable support for skin texture and atrophic acne scarring, whereas vitamin mesotherapy cocktails are non-standardised, vary between manufacturers and carry limited controlled evidence. This treatment does not rebuild significant volume, does not tighten significant laxity and does not lighten skin. Results build over weeks and vary between individuals. Needled cocktails carry a risk of infection, including delayed non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection and granulomatous nodules appearing weeks to months afterwards; report any late lump, nodule or persistent redness promptly and state that you had a needled cocktail. We do not treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, within six months of isotretinoin, over active infection, active cold sores, pustular acne, flaring eczema or psoriasis, or over pigmented lesions. Darker skin types carry a higher risk of pigmentary change. Nothing on this page is a diagnosis. Dermabloom Medical Center — DHA Licence No. [INSERT DHA LICENCE NUMBER].
