An aesthetics consultation in Mirdif, Dubai should end with a plan, not a payment. At Dermabloom Medical Center, Villa 44C, 83rd Street, Mirdif, Dr Sarah Magdy assesses your face, explains what would actually help, and writes it down for you to keep. You are then free to think about it, or to take that plan somewhere else entirely. To book, call 04 268 8226 or message +971 56 598 6039.
Plenty of clinics offer a free consultation. Frequently that means a price list read aloud by someone on commission. This is a different appointment, and this page explains exactly how.
What This Appointment Is
- A doctor-led assessment of your face or skin as a whole.
- An explanation of what causes the thing you dislike, which is often not what you assumed.
- Options ranked honestly, including doing nothing.
- A sequence, since order matters more than most people realise.
- Realistic costs and timelines, stated before you commit to anything.
- A written plan you take away with you.
It is not a sales appointment, and nobody will inject you on the spot because a slot happened to be free. Where same-day treatment genuinely suits you, we will say so and you can decide.
Aesthetics or Dermatology? Which One You Need
The two appointments answer different questions, so booking the right one saves you time.
Book a dermatology consultation for a medical skin problem. Acne, rashes, itching, hair loss, a changing mole, pigmentation disorders and skin infections all belong there.
Book this appointment for elective cosmetic treatment. Lines, volume, skin quality, texture, dullness and general “I look tired” concerns fit here.
Sometimes the two overlap, and that is fine. If you arrive for an aesthetics plan and Dr Sarah finds a medical problem underneath, she will tell you and redirect you. Treating melasma as a filler problem helps nobody.
We Assess the Face, Not the Request
Most people arrive having already diagnosed themselves. Usually they are half right, and the half they missed is the part that matters.
Here are the mismatches we see most often:
- “I want filler in my nasolabial folds.” Often the fold itself is a symptom, and the real change sits higher in the midface. Filling the fold directly can make the face look heavier.
- “My under-eyes are hollow.” Sometimes true. Frequently the darkness is pigment, thin skin or shadow rather than volume loss, and filler makes those worse.
- “I look tired.” This is the most common opening line, and the cause ranges from skin quality to sleep, allergy, pigmentation or genuine volume change.
- “I need more filler.” Occasionally the answer is less. Faces carrying years of accumulated product often look better after dissolving some of it.
- “I want a treatment I saw online.” The treatment may be excellent and still be wrong for your face.
So we look at the whole picture first. Then we tell you what is actually driving the thing you noticed.
Order of Operations
Sequencing decides how good your result looks and how much you spend getting there. Broadly, we work through four layers.
- Protection and skin health first. Daily SPF, a sensible routine and treatment of any active condition. Nothing built on inflamed or sun-damaged skin lasts well, and this layer costs the least.
- Skin quality next. Texture, pigmentation, pores and dullness. Improving the surface often removes the reason someone wanted injectables at all.
- Movement after that. Botulinum toxin softens lines caused by muscle activity, and it works best before those lines etch permanently.
- Volume and structure last. Filler and collagen stimulation address genuine structural change, and they look far better on skin that already behaves.
Most people arrive wanting to start at step four. Meanwhile steps one and two frequently deliver more visible change for less money — which is an awkward thing for a clinic to say and a true one.
If Your Budget Is Limited
Tell us the number. A good plan built around what you can actually spend beats an ideal plan you abandon halfway. Additionally, we would rather do one thing properly than four things thinly.
When the Honest Answer Is No
Sometimes treatment is the wrong answer, and saying so is part of the job.
- Surgery would serve you better. Significant skin laxity does not respond to filler, and adding volume to a face that needs lifting makes it heavier rather than younger.
- Expectations do not match what is possible. We will show you the realistic ceiling before you spend anything.
- The concern is very small and the distress is large. Where someone feels intense worry about a feature others struggle to see, more treatment rarely settles it. We will say that kindly, and we can help you find the right support if you want it.
- You are very young and the feature is still developing.
- Timing is wrong. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, an active skin infection, an upcoming event too close to the appointment, or a recent course of another treatment.
Nobody loses anything by hearing this. You still leave with an explanation, and frequently with something useful you can do instead.
What We Do Not Offer, and Why
Clinics rarely publish this list. We think it belongs on a consultation page.
- Large-volume body filler — buttock, hip, breast and calf augmentation. Regulators worldwide have issued safety warnings, the products used are frequently unlabelled and irreversible, and the complications include permanent disfigurement and death by embolism.
- Intimate and genital filler, which sits outside a dermatology clinic’s scope and carries a substantial complication literature.
- Intimate whitening, since the pigmentation is normal and the products involved cause real harm. Genuine pigmentation problems in that area deserve proper dermatological assessment instead.
- Injectable skin whitening. No regulator approves glutathione injections, and several have warned against them.
Asking again in different words will not change these answers. However, we will always explain the reasoning and offer the legitimate alternative where one exists.
Questions to Ask Any Clinic Before Anyone Injects You
Ask us these. More importantly, ask them everywhere else too.
- Who is injecting me, and what is their licence? Ask to see the DHA licence, not a certificate from a weekend course.
- What exactly are you injecting? The brand, the batch, and whether the product holds UAE registration.
- Do you keep hyaluronidase on site? This dissolves hyaluronic acid filler and it is the emergency treatment for a blocked blood vessel. Ask whether it is in date, whether staff are trained to use it, and whether a written vascular occlusion protocol exists.
- What happens if something goes wrong at 9pm? Get a real answer with a real phone number.
- What are the warning signs I should watch for? Severe or increasing pain, blanching, dusky or mottled skin, and any change in vision all need contacting the clinic the same day or attending an emergency department.
- What happens if I do not like it?
A good clinic welcomes every one of these questions. Hesitation on any of them tells you something useful.
What to Bring
- A list of previous treatments with dates, and the products used if you know them.
- Photographs of yourself from a few years ago, which help far more than reference images of other people.
- Your current skincare, photographed rather than carried.
- A medication list, including supplements and anything blood-thinning.
- Your actual question, even if it feels vague. “I look tired” is a perfectly good starting point.
Come without makeup if you can. Otherwise we can remove it here, although it costs a few minutes.
What Happens in the Appointment
- Your concerns, in your words, before anyone starts examining anything.
- Medical history. Conditions, medication, allergies, autoimmune disease, previous reactions and pregnancy status.
- Examination in good light, including your skin quality, not only the feature you mentioned.
- Explanation of what causes it.
- Options, ranked, with what each will and will not achieve.
- A sequence and a realistic cost, written down.
- Photographs, with your consent, so progress gets measured rather than remembered.
Expect roughly thirty minutes. Complex cases take longer, and we would rather run over than rush you.
A Note on What We Cannot Show You Publicly
UAE advertising rules restrict how clinics may promote prescription medicines and treatment imagery. Consequently some information cannot appear on a public web page. We can discuss all of it properly in person.
Cost
We charge for this appointment, deliberately. A paid consultation belongs to you rather than to a sales process, and it buys the doctor’s time and an honest answer. Dermabloom states the fee and the redemption position when you book — call 04 268 8226. UAE health insurance does not cover cosmetic consultations, although a genuinely medical skin problem may be a different matter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you charge when other clinics consult for free?
Because a free consultation usually belongs to a sales process rather than to you. Paying for the appointment buys a doctor’s time, an honest assessment and a written plan you keep — including the answer “you do not need this”. You are also free to take that plan elsewhere. We state the fee and the redemption position when you book.
Will I be treated on the same day?
Only if it genuinely suits you, and never because a slot happened to be free. Some treatments sit comfortably alongside the consultation. Others benefit from a pause, so you can read the plan, ask questions and decide without anyone waiting in the room. Dr Sarah will tell you which situation applies to you.
Should I book this or a dermatology consultation?
Book dermatology for a medical skin problem: acne, rashes, itching, hair loss, a changing mole, pigmentation disorders or infection. Book this appointment for elective cosmetic planning: lines, volume, skin quality, texture or looking tired. The two overlap sometimes, and if a medical cause turns up during an aesthetics assessment we will tell you and redirect you.
I know exactly what treatment I want. Do I still need this?
Yes, and it is often the most useful half hour you spend. Most people arrive having diagnosed themselves correctly about the symptom and incorrectly about the cause. Nasolabial folds frequently start higher in the midface, and hollow-looking under-eyes are often pigment rather than volume. Treating the wrong layer costs money and sometimes makes things worse.
What if I have a small budget?
Say the number out loud at the start. A plan built around what you can actually spend beats an ideal plan you abandon halfway through. Helpfully, the cheapest layers often deliver the most visible change: daily sun protection, a sensible routine and treating skin quality. We would also rather do one thing properly than four things thinly.
What order should treatments happen in?
Four layers, in this order. Protection and skin health first, since nothing built on inflamed or sun-damaged skin lasts. Skin quality second — texture, pigmentation and dullness. Movement third, where botulinum toxin softens lines before they etch. Volume and structure last, because filler looks far better on skin that already behaves. Most people want to start at the end.
Will you tell me if I do not need anything?
Yes, and it happens regularly. Sometimes surgery suits you better than injectables, since significant laxity does not respond to filler. Sometimes the realistic ceiling falls short of what you hoped. Occasionally a face carrying years of product looks better after dissolving some. You still leave with an explanation and usually something useful to do instead.
What should I ask before letting anyone inject me?
Six things. Who is injecting and what their DHA licence is. Exactly what product, brand and batch. Whether hyaluronidase sits on site, in date, with trained staff and a written vascular occlusion protocol. What happens if something goes wrong at 9pm. Which warning signs matter. And what happens if you dislike the result. Ask every clinic, including us.
Which warning signs after filler are urgent?
Severe or increasing pain, blanching or whitening of the skin, dusky or mottled discolouration, and any change in vision. Contact the clinic the same day or attend an emergency department. These can indicate a blocked blood vessel, which needs treating quickly. Any clinic offering hyaluronic acid filler should give you this list without being asked.
Do you offer body filler or intimate treatments?
No, and the reasoning is safety rather than squeamishness. Large-volume body filler carries regulator warnings worldwide, frequently uses unlabelled irreversible products, and has caused permanent disfigurement and deaths. Intimate and genital filler sits outside our scope. Intimate whitening and injectable skin whitening both cause real harm. We will explain the reasoning and offer legitimate alternatives where they exist.
What should I bring?
A list of previous treatments with dates and products, your medication list including supplements and blood thinners, and photographs of your current skincare. Old photographs of yourself help far more than reference images of other people. Come without makeup if that works for you, and bring your actual question even if it feels vague.
How long does it take?
Around thirty minutes. Complex cases run longer, and we would rather overrun than rush you out. The appointment covers your concerns in your own words, your medical history, an examination in good light, an explanation, ranked options, a written sequence with costs, and photographs taken with your consent.
Why can I not find prices or before-and-after photos on your site?
UAE advertising rules restrict how clinics promote prescription medicines and treatment imagery, so some information cannot sit on a public page. That constraint applies to every licensed clinic here, and a clinic ignoring it is telling you something about its compliance generally. We can discuss all of it properly in person.

An aesthetics consultation is a medical appointment with a licensed practitioner. Nothing on this page is medical advice, a diagnosis or a recommendation for any individual, and it does not replace a face-to-face assessment. No aesthetic treatment suits everyone, results vary between individuals, and a consultation may conclude that treatment is not appropriate for you. Botulinum toxin is a prescription medicine and a licensed doctor must assess you before prescribing it. Hyaluronic acid filler carries a risk of vascular occlusion; severe or increasing pain, blanching, dusky or mottled skin, or any visual change require contacting the clinic the same day or attending an emergency department. Dermabloom does not offer large-volume body filler, intimate or genital filler, intimate whitening or injectable skin whitening. UAE advertising regulations restrict the promotion of prescription medicines and treatment imagery, so some information is available only in person.
