Men’s full body laser hair removal in Dubai rarely means what men assume it means. Most packages leave out the face, and several leave out more than that. At Dermabloom Medical Center, Villa 44C, 83rd Street, Mirdif, Dr Sarah Magdy walks you through the list before you commit to anything. To book, call 04 268 8226 or message +971 56 598 6039.
So this page starts with the boring part: exactly what you are buying. Then it covers how a whole body actually gets treated, and whether you should buy the whole thing at all.
What Full Body Means, and What It Leaves Out
Zones the Package Covers
- Chest and stomach
- Full back, including the shoulders
- Underarms
- Arms — upper and lower, with hands where you want them
- Legs — thighs to ankles, with feet where you want them
- Nape and the back of the neck
Zones That Price Separately
- Beard and face. Almost no full-body package includes these, and the reason is clinical rather than commercial. Facial hair behaves differently, carries a real risk of paradoxical hypertrichosis, and needs its own consultation — see our beard laser page.
- Intimate area. This needs a separate consultation and its own consent discussion, so it never rides along inside a body package. Ask at consultation whether the clinic offers it and on what terms.
- Ears and nostrils, which we do not treat with laser.
Zones Nobody Treats
- Scalp hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. Laser near the eye risks the eye itself.
- The areola, where a burn means permanent pigment loss.
- Any pigmented lesion, anywhere on the body.
Check that list against whatever quote you receive, here or elsewhere. Frankly, the gap between “full body” as advertised and full body as delivered causes more complaints than any clinical issue does.
Nobody Treats a Whole Body in One Sitting
Add up the zones honestly and a single full-body pass runs close to three hours. That is uncomfortable for you, and it tempts the operator to hurry — which is how patchy coverage happens.
We split it instead. Upper body takes one appointment, lower body another, usually within the same week or two. Each visit then lasts roughly ninety minutes.
Splitting costs you nothing. Both halves stay on the same six-to-eight-week cycle, so the course still finishes together.
The Order We Treat In
A whole body is not one surface with one setting. Zones differ in hair coarseness, skin thickness, sun exposure and scarring risk. Consequently the order matters.
- Test patches go on the demanding sites first — the shin, the sternum and the shoulder. If your skin reacts anywhere, it reacts there.
- We start conservatively everywhere, then raise the fluence zone by zone across sessions. The chest and shins climb more slowly than the thighs and back.
- Sun-exposed zones drive the calendar. Forearms and lower legs tan while everything under a T-shirt stays pale, so those two zones get deferred most often.
- Dense zones come first in each visit, while you are freshest. Underarms and back before arms and stomach.
- Low-tolerance sites get shorter bursts, not a long uniform pass.
Above all, we never carry one setting across the whole body because the appointment is running long. That single shortcut causes most full-body burns.
One Goal Per Zone, Not One Goal for the Body
Very few men want every hair gone. Instead they want different things in different places, which a full-body course handles easily as long as you say so upfront.
| Zone | What most men choose | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Back and shoulders | Clearance | A cleared back rarely looks conspicuous, and you cannot maintain it yourself. |
| Underarms | Clearance | Dense, dark hair responds fastest, and nobody misses it. |
| Chest and stomach | Thinning | A bare chest suits some men and looks deliberate on others. |
| Arms | Thinning | Cleared arms read as conspicuous on most men. |
| Legs | Either | Cyclists, swimmers and physique athletes want clearance; most others prefer thinning. |
| Nape | Shaping | A clean line, not removal — the hairline still has to look natural. |
We photograph the map at consultation. Nobody then improvises it three sessions in.
Should You Buy Full Body at All?
Often, no — and we would rather say that now than after you have paid.
Full body gives you the lowest price per zone. Nevertheless it also asks you to decide today about zones that may not bother you at all. Men frequently discover that clearing the back and underarms solves ninety per cent of the problem, and the stomach never mattered.
Full Body Makes Sense If
- Coarse dark hair genuinely covers most of you.
- You already shave or wax four or more zones.
- Physique sport, serious swimming or cycling is part of your life.
- You have thought about each zone and want each one treated.
Two Zones Make More Sense If
- Only one or two areas actually bother you.
- You have never had laser before and want to see how you respond.
- Budget matters more than price per zone.
- You are under thirty, since body hair keeps developing into the forties.
Phasing works perfectly well. Start with what bothers you, then add zones later at the combined rate. Meanwhile you keep the option of never buying the rest.
Device Choice Depends on Your Skin
- Nd:YAG 1064nm for Fitzpatrick IV to VI. The longer wavelength cuts competing absorption by melanin in the skin itself.
- Alexandrite and diode for Fitzpatrick I to V, with diode covering large areas efficiently.
- IPL does not suit darker skin types.
One device does not automatically suit every zone on one person. Where your skin tone varies between a pale stomach and tanned forearms, we adjust rather than average.
What It Will Not Do
- Treat grey, white, blonde or red hair, which gives the laser no melanin target. On a full body, that often means a genuinely mixed result.
- Remove every hair. The honest term is permanent hair reduction.
- Include your face, unless you buy it separately.
- Cure acne or folliculitis, although it removes one trigger.
- Improve scars, keloids, stretch marks or keratosis pilaris.
- Treat varicose or thread veins.
- Work on tanned skin anywhere.
- Undo itself, which is why the zone map comes first.
Your Course
- Consultation. Dr Sarah checks your Fitzpatrick type, hair colour and coarseness zone by zone, and your current tan. She also reviews keloid history, any diabetes or circulation problem, skin conditions, medication and moles. Then we agree the zone map and the package contents in writing.
- Test patches on the demanding sites, followed by a wait.
- Upper body appointment, roughly ninety minutes with cooling throughout.
- Lower body appointment, within the same week or two.
- Course. Typically six to eight rounds, six to eight weeks apart. Expect nine to fourteen months end to end.
- Maintenance, occasional and zone-dependent afterwards.
Before and After
Before: shave every zone we are treating, the day before or the morning of your visit. The laser targets the follicle rather than surface hair. Stop waxing, plucking and epilating four weeks beforehand. Avoid sun, sunbeds, self-tan and spray tan for two to four weeks, and wash any tanning product off completely. Arrive with underarms free of deodorant. Finally, tell us about isotretinoin, photosensitising medication, anticoagulants, diabetes, neuropathy, varicose veins and any keloid history.
Afterwards: expect redness and small bumps around the follicles for a few hours to a day. Cool compresses and a bland moisturiser settle it. Because a full-body visit treats everything at once, the aftercare applies everywhere at once — so skip gym, sauna, steam, swimming and hot baths for a full 48 hours. Avoid deodorant, tight synthetic clothing, compression gear and heavy backpacks for a day. Keep SPF 50 on any skin that sees sun. Shedding over one to three weeks is normal, and it is not regrowth.
Risks
Common and expected: redness, perifollicular swelling, brief stinging, and shedding of treated hairs over the following weeks.
Less common: post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, temporary hypopigmentation, and folliculitis. Treating many zones at once means irritation shows up in several places rather than one, which some men find more unsettling than painful.
Uncommon but more consequential: burns, blistering and scarring. Four sites deserve particular respect across a full body. The sternum and shoulders rank among the body’s classic raised-scarring sites. Shins heal slowly, and considerably more slowly with diabetes or venous disease. Backs of the hands and tops of the feet sit thin over bone. Lastly, recently tanned forearms and lower legs cause more burns than anything else. Our zone pages cover each in detail.
Who We Cannot Treat
Laser does not suit recently tanned or sunburned skin, or skin still carrying tanning product. Nor does it suit active infection, open wounds, ulcers, inflamed lesions, an active or undiagnosed rash, or a photosensitivity disorder. We also work around tattoos, the areola, varicosities and pigmented lesions rather than treating over them.
Please raise these before booking: diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease, venous insufficiency or previous leg ulceration; a personal or family history of keloid scarring; hidradenitis suppurativa; vitiligo or another pigmentary disorder; and isotretinoin, photosensitising medication or anticoagulants. Additionally, mention any mole anywhere that looks new, growing, irregular or changing. We assess the lesion first — see skin lesion excision.
Price
Full body gives the lowest price per zone by a wide margin. That said, compare it against the two or three zones you would actually buy, not against the sum of everything. Ask for the package contents in writing, and ask specifically whether the face, hands, feet and intimate area sit inside or outside the quote. Dermabloom quotes a firm price at consultation, naming every zone and the device — call 04 268 8226. UAE health insurance does not cover cosmetic hair removal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does full body include my face and beard?
Almost never, here or anywhere else. The reason is clinical rather than commercial: facial hair behaves differently, carries a real risk of paradoxical hypertrichosis, and needs its own consultation and consent. So the beard and face price separately. Ask for the exclusions in writing before you pay, whichever clinic you use.
What else does the package leave out?
Typically the intimate area, which needs a separate consultation and consent discussion, plus ears and nostrils, which we do not laser. Hands and feet sometimes sit outside the quote too, so check. Beyond that, nobody treats scalp hair, eyebrows, eyelashes or the areola, and no clinic should laser over a pigmented lesion anywhere.
How long does a full body session take?
All of it in one pass runs close to three hours, which is uncomfortable for you and tempting to rush. We split it instead: upper body one appointment, lower body another, usually within the same week or two, at roughly ninety minutes each. Splitting costs nothing, since both halves stay on the same cycle.
Should I buy full body or just a couple of zones?
Full body wins on price per zone, but it asks you to decide today about areas that may not bother you. Many men find that clearing the back and underarms solves most of the problem. So start with what actually bothers you, then add zones later at the combined rate. Phasing works, and it keeps your options open.
Do I have to clear everything, or can I thin some areas?
Mixed goals are the norm rather than the exception. Most men clear the back and underarms, thin the chest, stomach and arms, choose either for the legs, and simply shape the nape. We map that zone by zone at consultation and photograph it. Since laser does not put hair back, deciding upfront matters more than it sounds.
How long does the whole course take?
Expect nine to fourteen months from first session to finished result. That comes from six to eight rounds spaced six to eight weeks apart, and the spacing cannot be compressed because only follicles in the active growth phase respond. However, most men see a clear difference after three or four rounds.
Will every zone finish at the same time?
No, and the differences are predictable. Underarms and shins usually clear fastest, since the hair there is dense and coarse. Back and chest respond well but keep a fringe of finer hair. Thighs and upper arms run slowest, because fine light hair simply gives the laser less to work with. Forearms lag for a different reason — they tan, so they get deferred.
Is one setting used across my whole body?
Never, and this is the shortcut that causes most full-body burns. Skin thickness, hair coarseness and scarring risk all vary across a body. The sternum, shins, hands and feet sit thin over bone and take gentler settings in shorter bursts. We also adjust where your own tone varies, such as a pale stomach beside tanned forearms.
Can I train the day after?
Not for a full 48 hours, and the restriction bites harder here. A full-body visit treats everything at once, so the aftercare applies everywhere at once. Skip gym, sauna, steam, swimming and hot baths, and avoid deodorant, compression gear and tight synthetic clothing for a day. Booking around a rest day solves it.
Does it work if I have dark skin?
Yes, with the right device. We use Nd:YAG 1064nm for Fitzpatrick IV to VI, because the longer wavelength cuts competing absorption by melanin in the skin itself. Alexandrite and diode suit types I to V, while IPL does not suit darker skin at all. Test patches always come first, and we raise the fluence gradually per zone.
Some of my hair is grey — does that matter?
It matters more on a full body than on a single zone. Laser targets melanin, so grey, white, blonde and red hairs give it nothing to aim at and simply stay. On a whole-body course that can leave a genuinely mixed result. Dr Sarah will look at each zone and tell you honestly where the response will disappoint.
I am 26 — is full body a good idea now?
Treating now is reasonable, although buying everything now is less so. Androgens drive body hair, particularly on the chest and back, and the pattern keeps developing through the thirties and forties. Follicles dormant today may activate later, which counts as new hair rather than regrowth. Phasing therefore suits younger men better than a full-body purchase.
Do you need to see me first?
Yes, and no clinic should sell you a body package without it. Dr Sarah checks your skin type, hair colour and coarseness zone by zone, your tan, your medication, and your history of keloids, diabetes, circulation problems and skin conditions. She also looks at your moles. Only then do we agree the zone map and the contents in writing.

Laser hair reduction is a medical procedure. A licensed medical practitioner must see you face to face and assess your skin first. The accurate term is permanent hair reduction rather than permanent removal, and laser does not put hair back once it goes. Laser does not affect grey, white, blonde or red hair, so a full-body result is frequently mixed. Package contents vary between clinics: confirm in writing whether the face, beard, hands, feet and intimate area sit inside or outside your quote. We never treat scalp hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, the areola, ears, nostrils or any pigmented lesion. We also do not treat recently tanned skin, skin carrying tanning product, an active or undiagnosed rash, or varicosities. Settings vary by zone. Tell us about diabetes, neuropathy, circulation problems, venous disease and any personal or family history of keloid scarring before treatment. Darker skin types carry a higher risk of pigmentary change. Laser does not suit everyone, and results vary between individuals.
